LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- According to Kentucky State Police and dispatchers in Elizabethtown, a multi-vehicle crash has shut down both southbound lanes of Interstate 65 near milemarker 94.
We're told two semis and three other vehicles were involved in the crash, which was reported as an injury accident just south of E'town.
At least one person was flown to Louisville for treatment. No word on their identity or condition.
Southbound traffic on I-65 is being diverted at KY 313 (Exit 102) and then over to US 31W and rejoin I-65 on the south side of Elizabethtown at Exit 91.
The current queue is being routed over the Exit 94 on/off ramps to bypass the crash, which is almost under the US 62 bridge over I65.
US 62 near the interstate overpass is very congested. As a result of the detour, traffic through Elizabethtown may also be very heavy along US 31W (Dixie Highway) through the afternoon commute.
Transportation officials say the interstate could remain closed through the afternoon rush.
