LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Gov. Steve Beshear says he's convinced that Ashley Judd is seriously considering a run against U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell.
Judd has been courting influential Democrats for several weeks.
And today, Beshear said he recently had a second phone conversation with Judd about the race.
"I would say, without getting into the specifics of the conversation, that I'm convinced that she is seriously considering a race for the United States Senate in the Democratic primary," Beshear said. "And we'll see where it goes."
Beshear said Judd would be an effective and formidable candidate.
Judd says she will announce her intentions by Derby Day.
