LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Wesley Korir has won another race -- this time for the Kenyan Parliament.
30-year-old Korir is a former U of L runner and last year's Boston Marathon winner. He was elected to an independent seat in Kenya, his home country, according to BBC Africa and various Kenyan media sources.
Years ago, he was swept up by a roving tribal gang and witnessed violence, then escaped to the U.S. through Uganda, with the help of coaches at U of L and friends at Southeast Christian Church.
