LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The public will learn more about the East End Bridge project tonight.
Two public open houses are scheduled this week.
Dozens of trees have been cleared along I-265 North, near U.S. 42, to make way for the project.
INDOT says crews are also demolishing vacated buildings in the path of the Ohio River Bridges Project.
"Then we'll start a little more major construction work, beginning early summer, which consists of tunnel excavation work as well as pier construction for the main span crossing it," said Greg Prince of INDOT.
The East End Bridge is expected to be completed in Oct. 2016.
Tonight's meeting is from 5 p.m. to 7p.m. at Springdale Community Church.
The next meeting is Wednesday at the John Nobel Woods Utica Community Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7 p.m.
