East End Bridge meeting to be held tonight in Utica

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Tonight Kentuckiana residents can again meet face-to-face with East End Bridge project leaders to learn more about the massive plan.

More than 400 people attended the open house at Springdale Community Church in Louisville Tuesday night.

Another meeting tonight in Utica will allow citizens to speak directly with project managers.

Crews are already clearing the way for the East End Bridge.

"I think part of it is, people are realizing construction is starting," said Ron Heustis, the East End Project Manager for INDOT, adding that the construction, "really brings it home that the project is starting."

The East End Crossing will complete an interstate loop around Louisville by connecting the Gene Snyder Freeway with I-265 in Indiana. It's expected to be finished in 2016.

Tonight's meeting is at the Utica Community Center from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be additional meetings in the future.
