LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An unloaded gun was found at Hart County High School in Munfordville, Ky. on Wednesday, according to school officials.
According to Assistant Superintendent Wesley Waddle, the school received an anonymous tip that an 18-year-old male student had the gun. The school responded, along with the Hart County Sheriff's Department, and the student was arrested.
Felony charges are pending.
Waddle reiterated that the gun was not loaded and there was no ammunition on the student's person or on school grounds.
He said the student had not made any threats. The student allegedly told school officials that he'd had contact with someone on Facebook (who was not a part of the school community) and because of that contact, he felt safer carrying the gun.
At no point were any students in danger, according to Waddle.
