LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is advising drivers to be aware of interstate ramp closings starting Friday.
The construction dates and times could change based on the weather.
Slip Ramp from I-264 to Old Brownsboro Road Starting March 15, the slip ramp from I-264 to Old Brownsboro Road will be closed on Friday, March 15, while contract crews work on the curb and shoulder pavement at the new spur off Exit 22.
The ramp from eastbound I-264 to KY 22 (Old Brownsboro Road) will be closed from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Motorists can access KY 22 via the exit ramp from eastbound I-264 to US 42 (Exit 22). Motorists can turn right from US 42 onto Old Brownsboro Road and proceed to KY 22.
The slip ramp opened in October 2012 and provides drivers direct access to KY 22, which in turn alleviates congestion at the I-264/US 42 interchange.
I-64 Ramp Closure Concrete repairs continue this weekend on the exit ramp from eastbound I-64 to eastbound I-264 (Exit 12B). The ramp will be closed from 8 p.m. on Friday, March 15 until 6 a.m. on Monday, March 18.
The signed detour for the I-64 East to I-264 East exit will be to take westbound I-264 (Exit 12A) to the Breckenridge Lane South exit (Exit 18A). Motorists can access eastbound I-264 at the end of this loop ramp. See diagram below.
The speed limit in the work zone is reduced to 45 MPH and double fines will be enforced.
This work is part of a project for pavement repairs to Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway) between Browns Lane and Westport Road (mile points 18.4 and 20.7). Hall Contracting, Inc. was awarded the contract for this project in the amount of $8.1 million. The work is scheduled for completion by July 31, 2013.
