LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A longtime Louisville grocery store officially closes its doors today.
Burger's Market has been in business for more than five decades.
It sits at the corner of Grinstead Drive and Ray Avenue.
For the last 40 years, brothers Tony and Jeff Burger were the ones keeping it going. For the past week, they've been offering their customers 50 percent off to get rid of merchandise. Tony Burger says he and his brother want to spend more time with family, but will miss their customers.
"I think it really hasn't hit me yet," he said. "I'm still thinking, 'Gosh, it's gonna be great to do what I want,' but I'm sure the emotion will be there because this is the only job I've ever had."
Saturday on WDRB News in the Morning, hear more from the brothers about closing the store, and how they plan to celebrate with community members.
