"Hansel & Gretel" highlights the Louisville Ballet School's Spring Showcase

The Louisville Ballet School presents their 2013 Spring Showcase March 23rd and 24th at Memorial Auditorium, 970 S. Fourth Street.

The Spring Showcase is created especially for the students of the Louisville Ballet School to show off skills learned in weekly class and as part of the Louisville Ballet Youth Ensemble.

As an important aspect of the training offered at the Louisville Ballet School, all Beginning through Advanced level and Youth Open Division students are invited participate in the annual Spring Showcase.

This year's Spring Showcase program includes:

Hansel & Gretel - Based on the classic fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, students dance the story of a brother and sister who wander into the woods and find a deliciously deceiving cottage made of candy.

Spring Collection - Students present a wide range of dance styles offered in the Youth Open Division, including Modern, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Flamenco and Broadway Jazz.

In Bloom & Fresh Picked - A program of classical and contemporary choreography, including works choreographed by Louisville Ballet Company members and Youth Ensemble members.

With an enrollment of over 450 students ranging in ages from 18 months to seniors, the Louisville Ballet School instructs students at all levels in a wide range of styles from ballet to jazz to Flamenco.

Louisville Ballet School Spring Showcase

Saturday, March 23 at 1:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m

Sunday, March 24 at 1:30 p.m.

Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $8 for children and are available at the Louisville Ballet at 315 E. Main Street, the Louisville Ballet School at 4121 Shelbyville Road, or by CLICKING HERE for the Louisville Ballet School website.
