LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The University of Louisville Cardinals are in Lexington, preparing to meet the challenge of being a No. 1 seed in what has been billed as one of the more unpredictable NCAA Tournament fields in years. The Cards take on North Carolina A&T tomorrow at 6:40.
Sports Director Tom Lane and Eric Crawford are in Lexington for U of L's practice later this afternoon.
Coach Rick Pitino says getting the number one seed is nice, but the team won't be focusing on the number -- they just need to hit the court and play hard.
He's also excited about heading back to Rupp Arena for the Cards' first round game: "I would say out of all the places that I've been on the road, I get the best support in Lexington of any place I travel, much better than any place. So they've treated me great. Now do they want to beat the brains out of Louisville? No question about it, and they should feel that way."
Pitino won a championship at UK in 1996.
The WDRB Sports team is hitting the road to cover both the Cards and IU in the Big Dance.
Tom Lane and Eric Crawford will be in Lexington with coverage beginning today at 4:00.
We'll hear from Rick Bozich and Steve Andress who are in Dayton with the Hoosiers, starting tomorrow.
