Belle of Louisville Gets By With a Little Help From Her Friends, Home Depot hosts volunteer and renovation day
Home Depot hosts a volunteer and renovation day for the Belle of Louisville on March 21st.
The retailer provided 40-60 volunteers and supplies to help make cosmetic repairs onboard the Belle.
Home Depot's donations include new flooring for the wheel house, first aid room, and men's restroom, as well as assorted light fixtures, paint, and plants for outside planters.
The repairs and improvements are in preparation for the Belle's cruising season which begins in May, as well as for her 100th birthday celebration which will take place in October of 2014.
The Belle of Louisville, the oldest operating Mississippi river-style steamboat in the United States will be celebrating a century of service on October 18th, 2014.
