36 new LMPD officers graduate

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Metro Police Department is now 36 officers stronger.  This morning, Police Chief Steve Conrad welcomed the newest additions to the police force.

Sixty-six percent of the graduating class have college degrees in majors such as Engineering, Marketing and Homeland and Corporate Security.  Two graduates have Master's degrees in Criminal Justice and Teaching.

The recruits come from various backgrounds. One was a police officer in Tennessee.  Another was born in Ghana, West Africa and immigrated to the U.S. before serving in the U.S. Army Reserves.
