Blind high school student masters the sport of archery

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It takes patience, precision and poise to excel in the sport of archery -- but a local high school senior is proving that, despite an unusual physical challenge, she can still demonstrate all three flawlessly.

Sydney Clark has degenerative eye disease, and a natural ability to shoot. Clark spent the past 10 years mastering this sport and competition.

Clark was even earned the "Uncommon Excellence" award at the state competition.

WDRB's Kelly Davis talked to Clark about her continual efforts to pursue the sport, and how she competes despite her inability to see. Click on the video player above to watch the story.
