Restaurant damaged after downtown explosions

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A downtown restaurant is dealing with thousands of dollars in lost food and equipment because of the explosions near city hall.

Gavi's Restaurant had to throw out food when the power went out Saturday. Some refrigeration equipment was ruined by the outage, too, which could cost several thousand dollars to replace.

Since vendors were closed over the weekend, Gavi's couldn't replace food until this morning.

Workers tried to use social media to alert customers about the temporary setback.
