Ky. Derby Festival announces Fest-A-Ville concert lineup

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Derby Festival has announced its national concert lineup for Kroger's Fest-A-Ville on the Waterfront running April 27 to May 3.

Pop-rick-country music star Uncle Kracker will kick off the festivities with the Sonic Saturday show on Saturday, April 27, according to a news release. Runners with a finisher's medal from that day's KDF Marathon/miniMarathon presented by Walmart and HumanaVitality will receive free entry into the venue.

On April 28, Family Sunday will feature a full slate of Christian music acts. The show will begin at 5 p.m., featuring headliner Building 429 with the Rhett Walker Band and Finding Favour.

The R&B group Cameo, well known for their hit song "Word Up," will be featured on Tuesday, April 30, at the RhythemFest concert.

On Wild Wednesday, May 1, The Features, along with special guest, Discount Guns, will take the stage beginning at 7 p.m.

Tune It Up Thursday on May 2, will feature The Wallflowers, a group known for chart-topping songs such as "One Headlight," "6th Avenue Heartache" and "Everything I Need." This concert will begin at 9 p.m.

Saturday, April 27
Kentucky Derby Festival Sonic Saturday Concert featuring Uncle Kracker.
  9 p.m.  Kroger's Fest-a-Ville on the Waterfront. Admission is free with a 2013 Pegasus Pin.   Contributing Sponsor: Lite 106.9 WVEZ.  (Food, drink and pets are not permitted.)

Sunday, April 28
Kentucky Derby Festival Family Day with WJIE featuring Building 429.
  7 p.m. at Kroger's Fest-a-Ville on the Waterfront. Christian contemporary concert.  Admission is free with a 2013 Pegasus Pin.  Sponsor:  88.5 WJIE.  (Food, drink and pets are not permitted.)

Tuesday, April 30
Kentucky Derby Festival Rhythmfest Concert featuring Cameo.
  9 p.m. Kroger's Fest-a-Ville on the Waterfront.  Admission is free with a 2013 Pegasus Pin.  Sponsors:  Kroger and Miller Lite.  Contributing Sponsors:  B96.5 FM and MAGIC 101.3.  (Food, drink and pets are not permitted.)

Wednesday, May 1
Kentucky Derby Festival Wild Wednesday evening concert featuring The Features.
  7 p.m.  Kroger's Fest-a-Ville on the Waterfront.  Admission is free with a 2013 Pegasus Pin. Contributing Sponsor:  91.9 WFPK.  (Food, drink and pets are not permitted.)

Thursday, May 2
Kentucky Derby Festival Tune It Up Thursday Concert featuring an evening with The Wallflowers.
  9 p.m.  Kroger's Fest-a-Ville on the Waterfront.  Admission is free with a 2013 Pegasus Pin.  Contributing Sponsor:  100.5 Gen X Radio.  (Food, drink and pets are not permitted.)

Friday, May 3
A big name in country music will headline The Kentucky Derby Festival Derby Eve Jam concert, scheduled for 8:30 p.m. at Kroger's Fest-A-Ville on the Waterfront.

On Thursday, April 25, Kroger's Fest-a-Ville on the Waterfront opens and will run through Friday, May 3.  The venue will once again be located at Waterfront Park.  The Fest-A-Ville venue will be open weekdays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. This ultimate entertainment experience offers national concerts, family fun, food vendors, a children's inflatable playground, midway rides and more.  Admission is a 2013 Pegasus Pin. Kroger is title sponsor of the event, with contributing sponsor Miller Lite.
