POLICE: No suspects sought in triple murder
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police are not looking for suspects in connection with a deadly triple shooting Sunday afternoon.
Police found the three men outside an apartment building in south Louisville off Georgetown Place, south of Berry Boulevard, around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
The coroner has identified the victims as: 31-year-old Kavin A. Tandy; 23-year-old Rayshawn Stovall; and 23-year-old Mark A. Fields.
Fields was found in the driver's seat of an SUV in the parking lot, and Stovall was found in the passenger's seat.
Tandy was found on the ground near the SUV.
According to LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell, detectives "believe gunfire was exchanged during the altercation and it does not appear that any suspects are outstanding."
Relatives of at least one of the victims rushed to the scene after they received phone calls about the shootings.
"I got a phone call that he had got shot, my cousin had got shot. I rushed over here real quick to see what was going on," said Kavin Tandy's cousin, William Tandy.
William Tandy says his cousin may have been visiting friends at the apartment when he was shot. He says Kavin Tandy was well-liked and always had a smile for others.
"He was the type person that would make you laugh," Tandy said. "If you was down, he'd put you up. I don't see why someone would choose to do him like that."
Again, police believe all three men were involved in a shootout that resulted in their deaths.
