LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Guns have been flying off stores shelves, and the sales are triggering a different kind of boom.
The demand for firearms means the companies who make them need more workers.
Some manufacturers are scrambling to hire enough people to keep up.
One expert says the industry employs about 240-thousand people across the country.
And an analyst notes many of the new jobs are temporary contract jobs, since the companies don't know how long the surge in demand will last.
