LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- After leaving amid a scandal, the man who co-founded Best Buy is returning to the company.
Richard Schulze is serving as chairman emeritus.
Schulze said he's coming back to "support the initiatives" put in place by the new CEO.
He considered making a buyout bid for the electronics retailer after leaving last year, but never made a formal offer.
Schulze resigned as chairman last May and left the board in June after a company investigation found he knew about an inappropriate relationship the then-CEO had with a female staffer.
Schulze founded Best Buy in 1966 and is its largest shareholder.
