Indiana teacher on leave after writing student threatening messages

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Indiana teacher could face criminal charges after writing threatening messages on his classroom blackboard.

In the northwestern city of Lake Station, a prosecutor is reviewing whether the teacher will be charged after an incident in early March.

Police say Edison High School business teacher Jeff Kincaid wrote messages on his board reading, "You are idiots," "The guns are loaded" and "Care to try me?"

Kincaid allegedly wrote the messages after he learned one of his students had cursed at a substitute teacher.

Kincaid is currently on leave, and he has apologized to the district's superintendent.
