FRANKFORT, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky is moving forward with plans to reopen Kentucky Kingdom.

A public hearing was held in Frankfort Friday morning, as the state does an economic impact study -- but no members of the public showed up.

The state approved the sale of the closed theme park to Ed Hart and his group, but final approval won't happen until the study is complete, which could take 3-4 weeks.

Hart told WDRB everything is on track to reopen Kentucky Kingdom by next year, but he added that fixing the park will cost more than originally projected.
