Benefit held in memory of Ethan Bennett

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB)---A benefit was held Saturday evening to remember 19-year-old Ethan Bennett.

The teenager disappeared in September of 2012.

In December, his car was found over an embankment in the Floyds Knobs.

As a way to pay it forward, his parents have established a Memorial Scholarship Fund in Ethan's name.

It will help allow a Silver Creek High School student to further their education.

"And just kinda set a general criteria of what we'd like for that student to look like- what kinds of achievements we'd like to see, but we want to make to make absolutely decision in the process of who gets the funds," says Tony Bennett, Ethan's father.

Saturday's event at Lakeside Reflections in Jeffersonville included a silent and live auction, as well as other activities.

All proceeds will go directly to the scholarship fund.
