Kevin Ware returns to Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kevin Ware is back home. WDRB News was there when the sophomore guard arrived at the Yum practice facility on campus.
Ware arrived around 2:15 Tuesday afternoon. He was on crutches and with his mother, Lisa Junior. She said, "Thanks for all the support. Thank you so much. We appreciate it." She was holding the Midwest Regional trophy the Cards won after defeating Duke 85-63 Sunday.
When asked by reporters how he felt, Ware responded, "I feel good."
Ware broke his leg on national television in Sunday's NCAA Regional Final win over Duke. He Tweeted a picture of himself on crutches this morning preparing to leave Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with the caption "Back to my brothers I go." He says he hopes to be on the bench with the Cardinals when they face Wichita State in his hometown of Atlanta on Saturday.
Ware continues to receive national attention after his gruesome injury. A picture of him and his U of L teammates made a regional cover of the latest Sports Illustrated.
