Louisville man accused of 15-year-old's murder
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old Shawnee High School student.
Tysha Spearman was shot and killed in the Portland neighborhood on June 11, 2012. At the time, Christopher 2X with Fight Crimes Against Children said she was arguing with a few boys when the situation turned violent.
"Unfortunately it just escalated out of control and she was hit," he said days after the incident.
Spearman was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital with a gunshot wound, where she later died.
On Tuesday night, police arrested 28-year-old Cephus L. Gore in connection with Spearman's death. Police say witnesses told them Gore was present at the shooting and was in possession of a handgun, which he fired multiple times.
Police say he then attempted to hide the gun from police.
Gore's actions, "resulted in the death of [the] victim and created a substantial risk of physical injury or death to numerous other people present in the alley and residents of the area," according to the arrest warrant.
Gore was arrested on Tuesday night and charged with murder, wanton endangerment and tampering with physical evidence.
Police say an accomplice, Antonio D. McFarland, was also arrested for the murder last June.
