LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner James Comer is shutting down the state's fuel testing lab.

Comer made the announcement Wednesday morning. Officials say operations at the state run fuel lab are inefficient, tests are backlogged and the operation is losing nearly $1 million a year.

Comer plans to hire a private company to handle fuel testing and save half that money.
