Apartments evacuated following early morning fire

Louisville, Ky. (WDRB) -- A fire forced residents out of their homes at an east Louisville apartment building early Thursday.

Louisville Fire & Rescue initially believed the fire was started by a possible meth lab. Firefighters were called to the building on Breckenridge Lane near Six Mile Lane just before 5 a.m.

Officials now say the fire was in a vacant apartment, and it may have started in the electrical .

Evacuated residents have been allowed back into their apartments.
