Indianapolis suspect pleads not guilty to trying to kill witness

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man already charged in a deadly Indianapolis house explosion has pleaded not guilty to trying to kill a key witness.

Police say Mark Leonard tried to arrange the murder from behind bars.

Leonard, his girlfriend and his brother already face life in prison for the November explosion.

Two people were killed and dozens of homes were damaged.

Investigators say they rigged a home's gas fireplace to pour out natural gas and triggered the blast by a microwave. Prosecutors say Leonard and his girlfriend had debt and were trying to collect insurance money.
