Federal Investigators release info on South Bend plane crash

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The plane that crashed into an Indiana neighborhood bounced off an airport runway several times before it crashed into nearby homes.

Federal Investigators released their findings today about the crash that happened in South Bend last month.

Two people died when the jet they were piloting crashed.

Three other people were injured.

The NTSB says the jet was descending to an airport runway when the pilot radioed that he had lost power and hydraulics.

Witnesses said the plane bounced several times on the runway before it climbed and then crashed into three homes in a nearby neighborhood.
