LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Metrosafe has confirmed that a man is dead after a fatal accident shut down I-65 northbound near Hospital Curve in downtown Louisville Friday night.

41-year-old Anthony Omar Marquez was killed after being struck at the exit ramp from I-65 north. Officials say he was walking along the Broadway exit ramp from I-65 north, when a blue pickup truck hit him.

Police got a call around 10:45 that a pedestrian had been struck on the highway.

Officials say the accident backed up traffic to Brook St. on I-65. Police also say the cars behind the pickup truck were involved in another crash, and may have information about the incident.

Police do not believe speed or alcohol was a factor in the accident.
