Eight Hundred students from Hwangs Martial Arts will take part in demonstrations on April 13 to benefit Kosair Children's Hospital.
The Hwangs Martial Arts Exposition will be at the Kentucky International Convention Center. There will be weapon routines, displays of strength, speed and Taekwondo demonstration.
The highlight of the exposition will be a once-a-year demonstration by Grandmaster Jung Oh Hwang. Born in South Korea, Hwang won a silver medal in Judo at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. In 1997, he moved to Louisville, opened a martial arts school and began working with local charities.
The event will feature a silent auction. The Kids Corner will have a magician, inflatables, mascots, face painting and more.
Tickets are $3 for children, $5 for adults in advance and can be purchased by calling Hwang's Martial Arts at 502-412-7755. At the door, tickets will be $5 for children and $8 for adults.
