Cards families head to Atlanta to show support

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- If you're looking for the biggest Cards fans in Atlanta, just look right next to the players.

The athletes' families are staying at the same hotel and catch up with the players when they can.

As some of the only people with real access to the players outside of news conferences, family members take time with the players to relax and calm down.

Injured guard Kevin Ware is taking a supporting role as he recovers from a broken leg.

"What's he trying to do for the team? Just basically be there and let them know that he's still in the battle with them. We have one more game to win in Monday, and just support and be in their ear as well as if they don't have enough of that, but he just wants to show his brothers some support." says Ware's mother Lisa Junior.

Chane Behanan's cousin says they try to talk about something other than basketball so he can relax.
