LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Less than a week after the local sporting goods store opened, police say Cabela's has fallen victim to a shoplifter.

According to an arrest report, 38-year-old Rodney Edford walked into the store, which is located near the intersection of Chamberlain Lane and Brownsboro Road, shortly after 4 p.m. on Monday.

Police say store security employees saw Edford hide $600 worth of merchandise and try to walk out with it -- and it wasn't the first time. According to the arrest report, Edford had taken a Garmin hiking GPS worth $530 on Saturday.

Police were called and Edford was arrested, after he allegedly admitted to both thefts, which had a total value of $1,130.

He was charged with theft.
