LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police are preparing to brief the media Tuesday afternoon on any changes in security for Thunder Over Louisville because of the attack in Boston.
Each year, Thunder over Louisville draws hundreds of thousands of spectators down to the Ohio River.
Kentucky Derby Festival officials say Thunder will go on, but with "heightened awareness." Detailed security measures are in place for other big festival events as well.
Smaller events like luncheons even have generic security measures planned out.
Kentucky Derby Festival officials say the plans take into account anything one could possibly imagine in a disaster scenario.
