Jeff Gardner went 4-for-4 with a home run and two doubles as Louisville beat Kentucky 12-5 at Cliff Hagan Stadium in Lexington Tuesday night. Gardner, a Junior from Whitefield Academy also scored two runs and drove in four. He keyed a five-run third with his two-run double and his two-run homer in the fifth started a six-run inning.
8th-ranked Louisville is now 29-7. They've won 7-of 8 after dropping a 5-4 10-inning decision to the Wildcats on April 2nd at Jim Patterson Stadium. 17th-ranked UK fell to 24-12 and has now lost six of eight since that win in Louisville.
Cody Ege got the win for U of Lwith 2 and 2/3rd innings of relief. Freshman starter Kyle Cody took the loss for Kentucky.
