Louisville hosts the National Wheelchair Basketball Association's (NWBA) National Championship tournaments for 2013 and 2014.
This is the first time Louisville has hosted the NWBA sporting event, in which more than 1,000 athletes representing 85 teams from across the country will compete.
The local economic impact is expected to be nearly $1 million with each tournament.
The 65th NWBA Tournament happens April 17-21, 2013, will be one of Kentucky's largest athletic events in 2013 and the largest wheelchair basketball tournament in the world.
The 2013 tournament is expected to have the most players and spectators in its 65-year history.
In addition to hosting the 2013 and 2014 tournaments, Louisville may have the option to host a third year in 2015.
Games will be played at 3 different venues, Kentucky Exposition Center, Basketball Academy & Hoops.
Tickets $5 per day or $15 for the tournament.

The National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) is comprised of more than 200 basketball teams across twenty-two conferences and seven divisions.
The NWBA was founded in 1948 and today consists of men's, women's, intercollegiate and youth teams throughout the United States and Canada.
