Louisville MSD warns of sewage overflow, water contamination
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Recent rainfall in Louisville Metro may cause sewers to overflow into drainage ditches and nearby streams, according to city officials.
Louisville's Metropolitan Sewer District issued an advisory to warn Metro residents of possible contamination in outdoor water sources.
MSD advises that no one should fish, wade or swim in outdoor waters during and 48 hours after rainfall.
Officials also say that if anyone, including pets, comes into contact with possibly contaminated water, wash it off with warm, soapy water, especially before handling food.
