LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- University of Louisville sophomore guard, who gained national and international recognition after breaking his right leg on national television in the NCAA Midwest Regional final against Duke, then inspiring his teammates in the immediate aftermath, has been invited to the annual White House Correspondents' Association Dinner by CNN.

U of L says Ware will attend the event on April 27. Its compliance office has received clearance for Ware to accept the invitation and make the trip. The prestigious event brings together President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, congressional leadership, the nation's top newsmakers and members of the Washington press corps.

The entire University of Louisville men's basketball team has been invited to meet the president at the White House later this summer in recognition of winning the NCAA title.
