Southern Ind. man arrested following golf cart fatality

Posted: Updated:

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (AP) -- A southern Indiana man is behind bars in connection to a deadly golf cart crash overnight.

Matthew Myers is being held at the Clark County Jail on a preliminary charge of "operating while intoxicated- causing serious bodily harm or injury".

Police say Myers told them his friend, Chad Anderson of Jeffersonville, was ejected from the golf cart during a hard turn.

Detective Todd Hollis tells WDRB that authorities found Anderson lying on the sidewalk, and Myers standing beside the golf cart around 12:30 a.m.

Police believe Anderson hit his head against a building and say he died from blunt force trauma.

Authorities say this is an ongoing investigation.
