BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) -- Authorities have arrested 257 people in Bloomington at events surrounding the Little 500 bicycle race, and a porch collapse at a house party has hurt five people.
Indiana State Excise Police said Sunday that officers arrested 235 people on 285 charges. Cpl. Travis Thickstun says most of the tickets were alcohol-related but also included drug offenses, indecent exposure and resisting arrest.
The Herald-Times reports Bloomington and Indiana University police arrested 22 people, including two juveniles, on mostly alcohol-related charges.
Bloomington police also report one person was taken to a hospital by ambulance and four other people were treated by medics after falling when the floor of a porch and its steps shifted away from an apartment building Saturday night. Eight to 10 people were on the porch at the time.
