LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Indiana judge is set to hear days of testimony as a man appeals his conviction in the murder of an Indiana University student.ÂÂ@
John Myers Jr. is serving a 65 year sentence for the slaying of 19-year-old Indiana University student Jill Behrman. The Bloomington native vanished during a bike ride in May of 2000. Her remains were found three years later in a field in Morgan County.
Myers' attorneys may enter up to 200 exhibits into evidence, as part of his petition for post-conviction relief.
A petition for post-conviction relief is typically filed in cases where defendants claim their lawyers failed to adequately represent them.
