LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Another name is popping up as a potential challenger for U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell.

Tom FitzGerald, age 58, an environmental attorney, may seek the Democratic nomination to run for U.S. Senate next year.

If he runs, he will give up his job as executive director of the non-profit Kentucky Resources Council, where he's been for nearly 30 years.

He says raising campaign money may be a challenge: McConnell has banked $13 million. Also, he says if Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes ends up running, he may not.
