LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A former Indiana lawmaker is arrested for DUI after crashing his car.

Michael Phillips, age 69, was the Democratic House speaker from 1988-1994.

Police say his blood-alcohol level was twice the state's legal limit when he crashed his car into a pay booth at a downtown Indianapolis parking garage.

Officials say he told police he had "a couple glasses of wine" before the accident Tuesday night at Circle Centre Mall's garage.

He was taken to jail and released Wednesday after posting a $150 bond.
