LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana lawmakers are working to start a grant program that will make schools in the state safer.

The new state budget plan will give $10 million a year to the potential grant program.

Lawmakers have appointed a special committee to study school security issues, and make recommendations to schools.

The bill also says that no one except police officers can carry a gun on school property without the school board's permission.
