LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A replica of the Vietnam War Memorial honored the fallen soldiers of the war.
This week, the city of Middletown hosted a half-scale replica of the D.C. Vietnam memorial wall. The wall was at Wetherby Park in Middletown.
Today, veterans and families visited Wetherby Park for the closing ceremonies. Along with the 250 foot wall, letters and memorabilia are displayed that were left at the wall in DC.
The mobile museum also offers an overview of the Vietnam War and a map of Vietnam.
Friends of the fallen said they were overwhelmed at the long list of names on the wall.
Volunteers also collected pictures of fallen soldiers for the Education Center of VVMF. Today's memorial service featured several speakers, taps and a flag ceremony.
The replica wall was built in 1996 and has visited more than 350 American cities.
