LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- WDRB's Keith Kaiser and photojournalist Eric Edwards hitched a ride on the "Despicablimp" -- a blimp to promote the new movie "Despicable Me 2."
The blimp will be in the Louisville area through May 4 to mark the Kentucky Derby.
According to the blimp's Web site, the Despicablimp is one of only 15 "flying airships" in the world, and is large enough to hold eight passengers and 75 million golf balls (though it wasn't clear from the Web site if it could hold both the passengers and the golf balls at the same time.)
The blimp is 165 feet long and 55 feet high, and can travel at a maximum speed of 45 mph, according to the site, so don't expect it to be winning any Nascar races anytime soon -- but as Keith and Eric can attest -- it does provide one majestic ride.
Check out Eric Edwards' images of the trip, and be sure to catch Keith's story on WDRB in the Morning!
