LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Metro police say a 53-year-old man died after he was struck by a train in the Hikes Point area Monday night.

The coroner's office says Thomas Coleman died at the scene of his injuries.

It happened about 6:45 p.m. on the overpass that carries tracks over Breckenridge Lane, south of Six Mile Lane.

A police spokesman said the man was seen lying between the rails of the tracks before the train struck him.  Police and the coroner's office are investigating.
