Dozens of meth labs found in rural Kentucky

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police in southeast Kentucky say they have uncovered the largest meth operation they've seen in years.

Sheriff's deputies paid a visit to Cane Fork in Leslie County after receiving an anonymous tip and found nearly 200 used meth labs.

The meth factory littered a wooded area there, with some elements of the labs hidden under leaves and others in plain site.

And several were still active, posing a risk to nearby people and animals.

Deputies say they've made meth busts in the area before, but they now plan to step up patrols in the area and conduct more surveillance.
