LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- UPS is showing off a new look for its redesigned Boeing 767 fleet.
On the edge of every wing, the airline added what is called a blended winglet. They are 11 feet tall - and enhance the overall efficiency of the aircraft. They help the shipping giant save fuel and reduce emissions.
Jeff Wafford with UPS explains, "What this does is it saves UPS about six million gallons of fuel annually, and if you equate that to an average car that's about a four percent fuel savings on each trip that we make with these planes."
This is the second busiest time of the year for UPS, with Mother's Day coming up on Sunday. Officials say more than two million packages will be coming through Louisville every 24 hours.
