LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested two men who stole over $600 of 5-Hour Energy drinks from a local Kroger store.

It happened Tuesday afternoon, shortly after 11:30 at the Kroger on Outer Loop, near Preston Hwy.

Police say 22-year-old Justin Stumler rode a motorized cart inside the store, while 19-year-old Brandon Lynch walked alongside him.

While inside the store, Stumler and Lynch allegedly took the energy drinks and placed them in the basket of the motorized cart and covered them up with a jacket. They then tried to leave the store without paying for the drinks. Police say store employees witnessed the incident.

The amount of merchandise was $665.10, according to the arrest report. All of the energy drinks were recovered.

Both Lynch and Stumler were arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking, police say.
