New exhibit at Frazier History Museum looks at Mythic Creatures

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The Loch Ness monster in the Ohio River?

Bigfoot in Cherokee Park?

A  unicorn at Churchill Downs?

It's just a fun take on the newest exhibit at the Frazier History Museum.  Mythic Creatures explores the truth behind the legends of creatures that have captivated people for centuries.

It includes dragons, mermaids, unicorns, as well as Bigfoot and the Loch Ness monster and others that have fascinated people across different cultures.

Krista Snider of the Frazier explains, "It takes a look why is that, and how those stories have actually shaped our society and helped us learn values and sort of spark our imagination over the years and how those are woven together."

The exhibit opens Saturday and runs through September.
