One dead after moped accident near Baxter Ave.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- We now know the name of the person who died Friday morning after a crash involving a moped and truck.

Around 4:20 a.m. on Friday, 5th division officers arrived on scene at Baxter Ave and Eastern Parkway.

The accident involved a Chevy Silverado and a moped. The Chevy was traveling southbound on Baxter Ave and attempting to turn onto Eastern Parkway when he collided with the moped.

The driver of the moped was then transported to University hospital with critical injuries.The Jefferson County Coroner says that 23-year-old Clay Mauldin was pronounced dead at the hospital.

His death was a result of the accident and his funeral arrangements are still pending.

The driver of the Chevy was not injured in the accident. No other vehicles were involved and no charges are being pressed at this time.

The accident is being investigated by the traffic division.One person is now dead after a collision involving a moped and truck last night.
